I want to know - What your personal definition of an artist? Please provide your answer as to the best definition of one who forms and produces artistic craft.
When providing your answer, please keep items such as the type of artwork, the medium and the final product out of the answer. The question only refers to the definition of an artist in the most general sense of the being. I’m not looking for “one who makes art” either. Give me something meaningful.
So, what is your answer?
What’s up with this trend on Tumblr in which users do not credit the artists who created the work to which the user posts on their blogs? Let’s make this whole “inspirational/stream of consciousness/look at what I like right now” experience just a bit better and add some kind of credits in the post or in the tags.
When I see a piece of art and I am so wowed by it that I go “Hey, who dat?” I want to find out right away. It should be a very easy process. I don’t even expect a link to the artist’s site (although that’s even better). Here’s an example of what I would consider a perfect Tumblr post:

There, see? Isn’t that wonderful? You can learn more about the artist, the piece from which this visual snippet derives from, AND you learn of the source from which the user gained this piece of inspiration. If you add tags, it even becomes searchable… whoa.
I know I haven’t followed this example exactly in every post I’ve made, and I know that one shouldn’t expect this much. Just please at least fit that artist’s name SOMEWHERE in the POST! Your source of instantaneous, momentary inspiration or the provider of your “Whoa, dat’s cool” moment deserves the extra effort.
Thank you for reading.
Love, JFish
T Edward Bak is a true artist in today’s world. He has my support, and I hope he may have your support too! Please donate to his Kickstarter, which will help him with his artistic expedition.

Please reblog if you enjoy Bak’s work and would like to support his artistry further.
I got grounded yesterday, so I can’t go out for the next two weeks! :(
(hopefully I can still make it to percentile!)
Anyway, yesterday I finally received my BITNB top! (my order was lost so i didn’t receive it for like 6 weeks)
YAY! :P
hehh the guitar ribs design is from illustrator JFish Fishcer. I just have no where to show it off since it just school and home. (AT LEAST I CAN STILL GO OUT WITH MY MOM TO GET MY NAILS DONE)
I’m glad you like your new top, Aimée!
I have two questions for you.
1.) Have you noticed that most establishments provide a musical background, or musical ambiance, which decorates your visit? (whether it be grocery shopping, waiting for your flight at the airport, shopping for shoes, getting coffee with friends) How does the usage of music to fill the gap between person to person interaction in order to make you feel more comfortable and less awkward make you feel? Do you like hearing that ELO song again and again? Do you like being reminded in a pizza parlor that you do in fact like Eagle’s Hotel California?
2.) To people in other countries besides USA: Does the above mentioned occur to you in your country of residence? Must you listen to your country’s musical hits while you shoppe?
